Proposals Put Forward For 44-Storey Manchester Residential Tower

17/1/25

Developer Glenbrook has put forward proposals for a 44-storey residential development in the centre of Manchester.

The developer has stated that it will look to hire a contractor this year to carry out the project, which includes 364 flats, located next to Deansgate Train Station in Whitworth Street West.

Pending planning approval, the developer intends to commence construction on the scheme, designed by Sheppard Robson, in early 2026.

Tony O'Brien, Sheppard Robson Partner, explained the design.

"By opening up the site, we are creating vibrant public spaces and pathways that enhance connections across this part of the city," he said.

"The building's terracotta, high-performance façade references both the existing and historic context while introducing a distinctly modern addition to the evolving skyline of Manchester."
