Former Mace Executive Mike Reader Named Construction Business Champion

The Department for Business and Trade has appointed former Mace executive and current MP Mike Reader as its business champion for construction.
The Labour MP for Northampton South announced plans to host a series of Westminster events to engage with industry stakeholders.
Reader, was elected last summer after balancing his campaign with his role as Mace's work-winning director.
Announcing the news on LinkedIn, Mr Reader said: "I'm delighted to be appointed as the new Business Champion for Construction.
"Effective business engagement is critical to the success of our Growth Mission.
"As Champion, I'll be hosting a series of round table events in Westminster to hear industry views on Government policy and the forthcoming Industrial Strategy.
"The first event is specifically for SME Tier 1 Contractors and Tier 2 Contractors working in the infrastructure sector."
Since November, Reader has served as chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Infrastructure. He also provides guidance to the Labour Infrastructure Forum, established by the government last September.
