HG Construction has landed a £75m student scheme in Bristol.
The high-rise specialist contractor will deliver a 706-room development comprised of four blocks ranging from five to 15 storeys.
The project, for client Studio Hive, is on Silverthorne Lane, at the centre of Bristol's Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone, which is undergoing a wider £375m regeneration with new residential, student and commercial developments planned, alongside a new school.
HG, which has offices in London and Hertfordshire, will be self-delivering the piling and prefabricated utility cupboards on the scheme, on what is its first project in Bristol.
HG Construction chief executive Adam Quinn said: "With a carefully thought-out design that will benefit the local community and enhance the student experience, the scheme will make a very positive addition to Silverthorne Lane.
Studio Hive is working in partnership with Far East Orchard, Woh Hup and Atlas Land, which jointly acquired the site in June 2022.
The project is expected to be completed in 2026.
With revenue of £335.7m in the year to 31 December 2022, HG Construction was ranked 57th in the 2023 CN100 list of the UK's largest contractors. Its turnover leapt by 39 per cent from £243m the year before. However, its pre-tax profit slid to £15.3m, down from £24.9m.
Quinn took over as chief executive in July 2022.
