Ardmore has signed a £200m main works contract for a major residential-led mixed-use scheme at West Cromwell Road, West London.

The firm will build 462 apartments across seven new blocks for joint venture developer MARK and Seven Capital.

The tallest block, on the corner of West Cromwell and Warwick Road, will rise up to 33-storeys, making it one of the tallest buildings in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

The new build blocks are founded on top of an existing multi-storey car park, which will remain operational during the significant strengthening and alteration works needed to the existing structure, requiring a complex phasing strategy agreed with the adjoining supermarket.

The car park can be salvaged as it was oringianl designed to support an 8 storey office building that was never built.

In addition to the new homes, the West Cromwell Road scheme will deliver commercial and retail space along with public realm improvements.

Damien Siviter, Seven Capital Group Managing Director, said: "Getting to this stage on a site as complex as West Cromwell Road, has been the result of a long and collaborative relationship with Ardmore, our neighbours and other stakeholders.

"We are looking forward to seeing the site come forward and making these exciting plans a reality."

Cormac Byrne, Ardmore Managing Director, said: "The project builds on our impressive track record of helping developers unlock some of the most complex schemes in London.

"There is no doubt this is one of the more challenging projects currently under construction in London and we have worked closely with Seven Capital MARK and neighbouring stakeholders to bring our extensive experience of working in and around existing occupied buildings and next to operational rail assets."

Ardmore is now gearing up to mobilse for the main works contract in April after some earlier small enabling works on the job.
