22-storey Salford Central tower block job to start in early 2023

16/12/22

Designed by HawkinsBrown, the project will be constructed between its Slate Yard and Novella schemes.

The new Plot C2 building on the banks of the River Irwell will rise to 22 storeys and marks the 11th phase of homes within the Salford Central masterplan.

It will be built next to the Plot C1 neighbouring block which Morgan Sindall is presently completing, after employing framework contractor JRL and MEP specialist Ameon.

The regeneration scheme is being delivered by The English Cities Fund, a joint venture between Morgan Sindall-owned Muse, Legal & General and Homes England.

Stuart Rogers, projects director at The English Cities Fund, said: "We're excited to reach the latest milestone within the masterplan and receive approval for the latest phase of homes.

"Since 2013, we've been delivering at scale and pace with our partners and we're delighted to add another building to the ever-expanding Salford skyline."

ECF is currently also on site with two live projects, including Eden – one of the UK's most sustainable office buildings and Greenhaus – the largest collection of Passivhaus-targed, sustainable and affordable apartments in the North West of England.

These are being delivered by Bowmer & Kirkland and Eric Wright respectively.
